Phylum Angiospermophyta

There are only a few species of marine flowering plants. Those most commonly observed by divers are the sea grasses. They form vast meadows, known to be nursery grounds of many important invertebrates and fishes. Unlike the algae, they have true roots, stems, leaves and flowers.
