Social feather duster

Description:
This feather duster has a single, circular crown of radioles and lives in clusters. Usually all animals in a cluster have the same pattern and coloration, because this animal also reproduces asexually. Coloration of the crown is highly variable, but seems to be constant within a region of the area. The parchment-like tubes in which the rest of the animal resides are partly visible.
Size: whole animal up to 6 cm, crown up to 3 cm.
Habitat:
This species lives on the reef, usually where some current occurs.
Depth: ranges from 5 m down to 20 m.
Distribution:
Common all over the Caribbean.
