Branching anemone

Description:
Stubby, branched pseudotentacles with prominent, nematocyst-bearing knobs. Animal with extended pseudotentacles up to 25 cm.
Color:
Usually in shades of brown to dark gray, sometimes with lighter colored markings, occasionally in shades of blue-green.
Habitat:
Body hidden from view in recesses, and concealed by the branch-work bed of pseudotentacles. Long, unbranched, true tentacles are only extended at night.
Distribution:
Common Florida, Bahamas and Caribbean.
