Description:
Colonies have open pinnate branching in single planes; older colonies may be somewhat bushy, up to 45 cm. Branchlets short, stiff and widely spaced. Apertures bordered by a distinctive, long, sharp terminal spine.
Color:
Branches whitish to light gray or yellow-brown; polyps yellowish brown.
Habitat:
Inhabit clear water, moderate to deep fore reef environments.
Distribution:
Occasional Caribbean.
