Viscous sponge
Plakortis angulospiculatus

Description:
Brown encrusting sponge, appearance often resembles a flow of viscous material. Surface smooth with occasionally a single small oscule. The consistency is tough, rubbery, very slightly compressible.
Color:
Light to dark brown.
Habitat:
Inhabit reefs and walls. Often grow on faces of undercuts, walls of canyons and in caves.
Distribution:
Common Florida, Bahamas and Caribbean.
