Description:
Evident are the blue eyes in this hermit crab. Especially since the eyestalks and tentacles are bright yellow. The legs and claws of this species are tan to yellow with red bands across, and red spots. The claws are of equal size.
Size: up to 8 cm.

Habitat:
Occurs in any habitat where it finds a shell to live in, including the coral reefs.
Depth ranges from intertidal pools down to 40 m.

Distribution:
Occasional all over the Caribbean.

Remarks:
In aquaria this species appears to live of algae that it finds in the sandy soil
