Description:
Ground color of this species is darker than the Common crawfish Panulirus argus, but is covered with light spots all over the body, legs and tail.
Maximum total body length about 20 cm, commonly to 15 cm.

Habitat:
A shallow water species.
Inhabits rocky areas and coral reefs, mainly in crevices, and is nocturnal in its movements.
Depth: ranges from 2 m down to 25 m.

Distribution:
All throughout the Caribbean, though less common than the Common crawfish Panulirus argus.
