Description:
A large, gray shark with an interdorsal ridge and a short blunt snout. First dorsal fin starts behind the pectoral fin. Inside tip of the pectoral fin and the tips of ventral and anal fins and lower lobe of the tail dusky.
Size up to 3 m.

Habitat:
Found on continental and insular shelves, often near drop-offs on the outer edges of the reefs. Down to 65 m, but usually at less than 30 m deep. May rest on the bottom. Feeds on bony fish.

Distribution:
Uncommon Florida, occasional Bahamas and Caribbean.
