Description:
Body thin, snake-like, often grayish, but can be olive to purplish brown. Head with small yellow spots (M. breviceps), and large, diffuse, pale spots on the body. These body spots often have yellow centers.
Size up to 75 cm.

Habitat:
Inhabit a wide range of habitats, from seagrass beds to areas of rocky rubble to reefs, down to 15 m.

Distribution:
Occasional to uncommon Florida, Bahamas and Caribbean.
