Mirrorwing flyingfish

Description:
Body dark, iridescent blue above, silvery white below. Snout blunt. Dorsal and caudal fins grayish. Pectoral fins, when extended, with a wide border on the trailing edge. A pale triangle extends from the base of the pectoral fins.
Size up to 30 cm.
Habitat:
Found in oceanic surface waters, down to 20 m. Rapid swimmers, when frightened, they can break through the surface and glide great distances on their extended pectoral fins.
Distribution:
Not reported Florida, uncommon Bahamas and eastern Caribbean.
