Description:
Colonies with stout, irregular, stubby branches with blunt and often enlarged tips.

Color:
Ranges from beige to yellow-brown.

Corallites:
Calices narrowly spaced with a poorly developed wall. Corallites with 12 septa, 1.8 to 2.0 mm in diameter. Columella trabecular and discontinuous.

Habitat:
Most common on moderate to deeper reefs, down to 50 m.

Distribution:
Common to abundant South Florida, Bahamas and Caribbean.
