Description:
Plants about 5-16 cm tall, growing in dense clusters. The lower parts of the plants are smooth, but toward the ends, the branches are sparsely to densely crowded with short, truncate to tuberculate branchlets. Plants olive green to greenish purple in color; consistency somewhat cartilaginous.

Habitat:
This species may be very common in sheltered waters.
